We are pleased to announce that Lauren Evans has been appointed Program and Operations Manager, Senior, for the Undergraduate Curriculum team in the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE). In this new project management and executive support position, Lauren will report to Associate Vice Provost Dr. Roberta Berry and provide dedicated support for the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), including its Faculty Co-Directors, Chad Slieper and Kate Williams, and its Development and Planning Committee. She will also contribute to other projects of OUE’s Undergraduate Curriculum team, which supports the full range of curricular policy matters and initiatives that fall within the purview of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education.
Lauren’s educational preparation includes a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Communication Studies from the University of Alabama. Lauren joined Georgia Tech in 2014 to serve as Administrative Professional III for the Honors Program. Since then, she has been promoted to Senior Administrative Professional, Program and Operations Manager, and Program and Operations Manager, Senior. In 2022, she was nominated for and won a Spirit of Georgia Tech Award, recognizing staff “who inspire others with their presence and professionalism, creating an environment where others flourish and thrive.”
Lauren’s responsibilities for the Honors Program have included planning and managing the recruitment and admission of entering students and developing and executing programming and events for students, including retreats, guest lectures, seminars, social and cultural events, professional development programs, and community engagement initiatives. Lauren has also taught several sections of GT 1000 and led several extra-curricular activities for the Honors Program focused on creative writing and communication. In her spare time, Lauren has authored her first novel, Casket Case, longlisted for the Cheshire Novel Prize and forthcoming from Penguin Random House this fall.
