New to OUE: James Barricelli

Mr. James Barricelli is the new Director for Employer Relations in the Center for Career Discovery and Development (C2D2). James began his role on November 1, 2018.

In his position, James will report to Dr. Steven Girardot and will direct all facets of employer relations by providing strategic and tactical leadership to maximize co-op, internship, and permanent employment opportunities for students. He will also be responsible for a variety of recruiting programs and services, including the On-Campus Recruiting Program; the Fall and Spring semester All-Majors Career Fairs; the Partners Program for corporate sponsorships; and numerous recruiter workshops and summits. Finally, he will participate in the overall leadership of C2D2, working closely with the leadership team and staff.

2018 NAASS Annual Conference

Alyson Moore, Christina Wan, De Morris Walker & Steven Girardot attended the NAASS (North American Association of Summer Sessions) annual conference in Portland, Oregon this past month. Christina & De Morris presented a session entitled “Piloting a successful summer first-year program” about the iGniTe Summer Launch Program and Steven began the leadership role of President (after having served in various roles within NAASS throughout the past few years) for the 2018-2019 term.

2018 NACADA Advising Awards

Two Georgia Tech advisors were formally recognized at the 2018 NACADA Annual Conference in Phoenix, AZ. Leslie Ross (primart role) won the "Outstanding Advisor Award", and Dr. Kimberly Schurmeier (faculty role) won the "Certificate of Merit".
